Elisabeth Bostwick combines her passion for teaching and learning with her vision for enhancing a collaborative culture of thought leaders. She continues to be a risk taker and leader in education as she is in her 14th year as classroom teacher. Elisabeth also currently serves as grade level chairperson. She avidly seeks alternative methods to innovate in the classroom, and support systemic change. Students in her class are empowered to be leaders by developing their unique gifts and potential as Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E. Ambassadors. Elisabeth is leading the maker movement with a team at her elementary school and has been invited three years in a row to present at Barnes and Nobles during Teacher Appreciation week and the Mini Maker Faire. She worked diligently to assist in bringing PBL to her school to support rigorous, relevant, and authentic learning. Elisabeth has designed and facilitated a variety of district professional development on Creating a Caring and Collaborative Classroom to Support Responsible Risk Taking and Igniting a Culture of Future Ready Learners. In 2016 she was a recipient of the New York Excellence in Education Award. Elisabeth was named the PBS Lead Digital Innovator in New York, and received recognition as an Educational Leader by NextGen in 2017. Elisabeth is also the co-host for #LeadUpTeach on Twitter and YouTube, as well as a Maker Mentor for www.YearInTheMaking.com.
